ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-60 WCF. S# 32071. Bbl. octagon to rnd. configuration shortened to 23 7/8". Sporting front sight with folding leaf rear sight. Breech and muzzle ends of bbl. have added single gold inlaid lines. Action has 75% coverage of added scroll engraving. Vignette on left sideplate features a stag and hounds. Crescent steel trapdoor buttplate has complimentary engraving at its peak. Action, buttplate, forearm cap, and sling swivels are gold finished. Standard 9 3/8" forearm and straight grip walnut stock have added point pattern checkering. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum records check stating: "Type: Rifle/ Caliber: 45/60/ Barrel Type: Octagon/ Trigger: Plain/ Received in warehouse on May 19, 1883/ Shipped from warehouse on November 12, 1883, Order number 8996". CONDITION: action and fittings retain nearly all gold plated finish. Bbl. and mag. tube retain nearly all reblued finish. Hammer and lever retain nearly all re-case colored finish. Sanded and refinished stocks have a dark blotchy finish. Lifter does not function properly. Top extractor is broken. Dark pitted bore has weakly visible rifling. (01-26780/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
